MCC Christmas Party This week!

Senior Youth! This week we'll be meeting at 7 to play some group games, and have good times hanging out. We'll be watching the movie Elf as part of our festivities (If that's not your thing, you can always play ping pong or something downstairs while that's happening. Or a board game if you bring one?) We will be providing Hot Chocolate and Popcorn! If you'd like some other snacks, bring money for stuff from Canteen, or bring some extra snacks! This is gonna be awesome!

Senior and Junior Youth will both be starting up again on January 8th (Wednesday) with a joint games night in the Church Basement!

Senior Youth:

December 11: Underground Church (changed from carolling due to windchill)
December 18: MCC dress-up Christmas party! Starts at 7, we'll be playing some group games and watching the movie Elf, snacks will be provided, canteen will be open, and best costume gets a prize!

Junior Youth:

December 13: Carolling

Young Adults:

December 23: Christmas Potluck Party: 6pm @ Youth Hut. Bring food and snacks to share, as well as board/group games you wanna play! See ya there!

Update on the youth retreat!

The Senior youth retreat was at Camp Arnes this past weekend. We had 21 youth and 8 leaders who attended. I was the speaker, and if you want to know about how the sessions went, ask your youth. We spent some time talking and thinking about what it means to build a relationship with Jesus, and what we can do to build ours up. We ate a lot of good food, played some games, inside and outside, went on a hayride, did tim-tam slams (ask your youth about that, if you don't know what it is), and just had a blast hanging out together this weekend. We dressed up as pirates, played broomball and human foosball, went swimming, wrestled in sumo suits, and hung out in the hot tub. All in all, it was a great weekend, and a lot of fun!

Senior Youth cancelled.

We will not be having senior youth tonight. Due to weather conditions.

If you are coming on the retreat, remember to meet at Church at 4:30pm Friday, and make sure that you have your bag supper, $$$, and your waiver form if you haven't already gotten those in to me. Be safe and have fun!

Change of plans for Jr Youth this week....

Hey All,

Since there isn't enough snow to do a skating/tobogganing night this Friday, we are planning to do a movie night instead! Bring your pillows and blankets and your favourite movie snack for a great evening of entertainment.

Also, it's time to start thinking about our jr youth retreat coming up Jan 17 to 19. If you are interested, we'll have some more details this Friday.

Senior Youth:

Wednesday November 27 - John Fehr is gonna do some sharing about his experience staffing a YWAM DTS in Idaho for the past 6 months, and we're gonna skype in Kendra for a little bit from Mexico! If you've already picked up waiver forms, make sure to get those signed, filled out and brought back! I need to send in a final number for how many people are going to be there this week. So let me know ASAP if you know for sure that you can or can't go! And with the final number I need to know your allergies.

Hey everybody, the senior youth retreat is coming up soon! December 6-8 we'll be at camp Arnes! It's gonna be a very enjoyable weekend!

Senior High Retreat Details

Here are the details!

Theme: Building Blocks
Speaker: Gerry Giesbrecht
Venue: Camp Arnes
Dates: December 6-8 (We want to leave the Church at 5pm Sharp! And we'll be back on the Sunday around 4pm!
Cost: $75/person (If coming up with finances is an issue for you, come talk to me and we can work something out!)

Make sure you bring a bag supper to eat on the drive. Waiver forms will be available closer to the retreat.

If YOU have not already signed up for the retreat, or have signed up as a MAYBE, PLEASE find out if you can come. The easiest way to let me know is via the signup sheet. The Signup sheet will be posted on the Bulletin Board in the Youth Center, make sure you sign up!

You are all awesome! This is going to be a lot of fun!!

What a fantastic evening we had at Jr youth tonight! 

Every evening before Jr youth begins, us leaders meet in the basement to talk and pray about our evening, and it never fails brings a smile to my face as I listen to the immense amount of energy waiting for us when we come up those stairs. Its like walking into an ocean wave... you've gotta brace yourself, and then jump right in!

Thanks tonight to Kyle for leading our Bible study. He did a great job reminding us that its okay to acknowledge our gifts and talents, without being arrogant about them. He also helped us understand what God sees when he sees us, and a reminder to love ourselves for who he made us to be. 

Thanks to Kristen for setting up the Photo Scavenger Hunt last weekend, it turned out great! Here's a video to check out:

Photo Scavenger Hunt Tonight!

Hello everyone! Just a reminder that tonight is our photo scavenger hunt! 

We'll be meeting at the church around 6:30 and heading to winkler to snap some fun photos and eat some ice cream! (Or something warm...) We'll be back around 9:30.

Dress to be outside and come ready to have a blast!

A Beautiful Pre-Winter Morning!

Good Morning Everyone! It's a beautiful day. Something that has been on my mind and heart this week, mostly because of the video series we're going through in our care group is fear. What are you afraid of? Something that Craig Groeschel said in the video this week struck me. If we fear something, it shows us what we value, but also the things that we have a tough time trusting God with. He also said that as we seek God more, he'll deliver us from all of our fears. He has seen this personally in his wife's life, and it's something that I hadn't thought of before. 2 Timothy 1:7 in the New Living Translation reads, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline." Praise God for his goodness!

Update:
The fundraising Lunch went well, our Church supports our youth group well! Thank you so much to everyone who came out to financially support us at the lunch, as well as the many people who pray for us daily, weekly, or whenever they think of us! We appreciate it hugely! Yesterday we had a gym night, we met at MCI and played games for the evening! It is amazing how much fun we can have running around and throwing dodgeballs at each other! I think that it's important to recognize how even just using our bodies can be a way of worshipping God. Honoring the gift of a working physical body, by using it to enjoy life is important! Today I am thankful for my health! And...nobody got injured yesterday, so praise the Lord for that!
